Additional Documents for Caste Certificate

Along with above mentioned common documents required for caste certificate, you may need some additional documents as per scenario. In this section, we will try to cover all of those scenarios and lists of document required for each scenario.

Case 1) Father’s caste certificate not available: Then you need to have your relative’s caste certificate along with the genealogical affidavit. This affidavit explains family lineage and history.

Case 2) Married Women: If you are applying for caste certificate after your marriage then proof of caste before marriage and your marriage certificate. If you have changed the name, then you need to give Name Change Notification in Gazette.

Case 3) Religion Conversion: If you have converted your religion then you need to proof of caste before conversion.

Case 4) Migration from Other State or District: If you have migrated from other state or district then you need to provide father’s caste proof issued by a state or district from which you have migrated.


  • You need to affix 5 rupees of court fees on the application form and all affidavits you are enclosing.
  • At the end of the form, affix witness passport size photo with name, address, and signature.
  • Kindly note that not all states or districts support an online application for caste certificate yet. Do not fall for scam website. All government website’s wen address end with domain.
  • For the offline process, you most probably need to visit Sub Divisional Magistrate Office or Tehsil or Revenue Office of your district. You can inquire at CSC Centers, SETU Centers also. As this is a state matter, you need to get information specific to you state/ district.
  • Your Birth Certificate and Marriage certificate are must, you must get it first.
